Asthma Medications
Asthma is a disease that affects the breathing passages of the lungs (bronchi and bronchioles). Asthma is caused by chronic (ongoing, long-term) inflammation of these passages.
There are four major asthma drugs: Bronchodilators, Anti-Inflammatory drugs, Leukotriene blockers and Anti-Ige medications. Once you’ve been diagnosed with asthma, your doctor may prescribe more than one asthma medication to relieve asthma symptoms and control asthma for the long-term. Below you’ll find a list of common drugs prescribed to treat the condition.

Call your doctor if you notice any of the following symptoms: change in amount or color of sputum, fever, chills, increased cough, or increased breathing problems. ADVAIR may increase your risk of osteoporosis and some eye problems (cataracts or glaucoma). You should have regular eye exams. Thrush in the mouth and throat may occur. Tell your doctor if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure before taking ADVAIR. Do not use ADVAIR with long-acting beta2-agonists for any reason.
